What is Powder Coating?
- Powder coating is a type of coating that is electrostatically applied as a free-flowing, dry powder and is then oven cured, very similar to Cerakote.
- Powder Coating can only be applied to metals.
- There are 6500 colors to choose from and various textures.
- While firearms can be powder coated, it is best suited for small parts that you want to stand out; triggers, safeties, bolt handles, iron sights.
What does all this mean? You can add some color to your favorite firearm or firearm(s) part that you want to stand-out.
Cerakote Firearm Finishes
What is Cerakote?
- Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood.
- The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and harness.
- Cerakote comes in 104 standard colors plus Clear; and it can be blended to match just about any color in the spectrum. Cerakote can be blended to any sheen level.
- Cerakote is well-suited for salty environments.
What does all this mean? If you want something that will stand up to Alaska brush during your next hunting trip, Cerakote is the coating you want on your firearm(s). Think of Cerakote as tough as nails.
DuraCoat Firearm Finishes
What is DuraCoat?
- The DuraCoat System is the very latest in firearm finishing technology. No other commercially manufactured and packages firearm finishing system offers the versatility, durability and user friendly characteristics of DuraCoat.
- DuraCoat comes in 145 standard colors plus Clear and it can be blended to match any color of the spectrum. DuraCoat can be blended to any sheen level and applied in a multitude of textures.
- DuraCoat can be applied to ferrous metals, alloys, stainless steel, synthetics, woods. No preheating or baking is required.
- DuraCoat is well-suited for salty environments. One of DuraCoat's attributes is its extreme ability to resist salt corrosion. A firearm coated with DuraCoat simply will not rust.
What does all this mean? Duacoat is great for highly stylized, very detail oriented design. Think of DuraCoating as air-brushed art work.
